What Is inFlow Inventory?

inFlow is an inventory management software suite. It has many features to help retailers handle their businesses efficiently. 

Inventory and supply chain management it’s often complex and challenging, especially for large retailers. inFlow is here to make it easier.

inFlow Features

One good thing about inFlow is that it has an extensive feature set. They include:

inFlow Inventory Management

This is the tool’s primary functionality. With it, you can set prices, add barcodes, track across locations, and much more. 

The first step is to add products and input the required information. Afterward, any time you need any information regarding a product, you can easily retrieve it. 

Selling and Invoicing

inFlow Inventory lets you create invoices and have customers pay via a web browser. You can also make quotes, fulfill orders, and monitor customer returns. 

In addition, the tool boasts the following abilities:

Product tracking

Once you fulfill an order, inFlow will automatically email the tracking number to your customer. 

Shipping labels

You can buy, edit, and print shipping labels without ever leaving your inFlow dashboard.

Import sales 

You can import sales from external e-commerce platforms such as WooCommerce and Shopify and handle them in inFlow.


You can send sales data automatically to external accounting software like QuickBooks and Xero. 

Purchasing and Receiving

inFlow Inventory lets you automate a great deal of your purchase order management. Schedule reminders to reorder ahead of time. Also, set oversight rules and let it know which staff is permitted to reorder products. You can record purchase orders automatically, and so on. 

inFlow Inventory barcode scanner

The solution lets you set up a barcode scanning system to keep track of your products. 

You first need to buy a customized inFlow Inventory barcode reader. You could get the custom-built smartphone type or a simple USB scanner. The former costs around $1,000 and the latter - less than $100. Software is included in the purchase price, and you can start keeping track of your products right away.

You can automatically create new barcode numbers or add the ones you already have. You can store more than one barcode for the same product by separating them with commas. 

To do that, you have to open an inFlow Inventory sales order.  Then, click on the barcode icon to activate the camera on the reader. 

Align the barcode in the camera’s view. Click on the scanning button.


inFlow Inventory export data

inFlow Inventory lets you export data or reports to external applications. It could be sales orders, purchase orders, etc. You can export data mostly in CSV (spreadsheet) format. 

Why is it important?

For example, you may need Microsoft Excel for financial planning or Intuit QuickBooks for accounting. inFlow lets you easily share data between different apps.

Here’s how to export data on inFlow Inventory:

  • Go to Main Menu > General > Export Data
  • Choose the type of data you’d like to export
  • Click Browse to choose where you’ll like to save the downloaded file
  • Click Next. It’s as easy as that.

Note that there are specific data formats inFlow doesn’t let you export, for example, pictures and images.

Data Import

You can import data from other sources. For example:

  • vendor information 
  • product description
  • stock information
  • product images (but you can’t export them) 

B2B Portal

Business-to-business (B2B) sales can take time, mainly when orders are submitted through email or phone. inFlow Inventory makes it easier with its “Showroom” B2B portal. 

You can create professional product catalogs you can customize and share online. Your clients can easily browse through it, select the products they want and pay right away. 

In addition, you can have special product catalogs for business customers with wholesale pricing and have them checkout directly from it. To make it feel as exclusive as possible, you can set a password.

inFlow has excellent Showroom templates for you to choose from. 


Suppose you’re the manufacturer of the products you sell. inFlow lets you organize your inventory around your manufacturing processes to avoid getting stuck at any point. For example, it lets you know when you’re running out of components and need to restock. You can also automatically update your inventory when you assemble each product.

inFlow Inventory Mobile Apps

inFlow Inventory has dedicated mobile apps you can use. This is a significant advantage because most tools of its caliber only have web-based interfaces. There are separate apps for iOS and Android. 

There’s also a native app for Microsoft Windows, which you won’t see in most competitors. However, there’s no inFlow Inventory Mac app. 

Ease of Use and Interface

When it comes to ease of use, inFlow Inventory scores high. Many inFlow reviews always highlight that the tool is user-friendly.

When you launch the app, there’s a sidebar menu with all the functionalities. You can also see all the basic features on the central dashboard. The structure makes it easy for anyone to navigate, whether a tech expert or a layperson. 

In addition, there’s sufficient technical support if you run into challenges.
