What Is Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office?

Data recovery is something that everyone needs nowadays. So why not give Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office a try? It works on Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android devices and it promises a lot of neat features.

In our Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office review, we’ll tell you everything you need to know about the software. We tested it thoroughly and here’s what we found:

You can backup all of your important data with fast recovery. The easy disk cloning, full image backup, cloud/local/hybrid options, and active ransomware protection are some of the reasons why this software is among the top data backup solutions.

But that’s hardly all:

When it comes to features, the Acronis software is full of interesting options.

Archiving And Syncing

One of the highlights we discovered while writing this Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office review, was the Archive tab. The feature scans your folders for any files that you don’t need and offloads them to an external drive or cloud storage. This option can be set to run through your files whenever you are connected (automatically), or you can decide which files you want to send to these drives (manually).

You can also sync your data across various devices. You can create a default folder and use it as online storage. Enabling cloud syncing lets you access files and folders through the web or via a mobile device. The only downside is that Acronis doesn’t save file versions.

Advanced Protection From Viruses & Ransomware

Data theft, malware, and ransomware are huge issues. But worry not. The Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office software will scan your files for any potential hazards and identify the security weaknesses in your operating system. You can also block malicious URLs and protect your data and privacy from hacker attacks when videoconferencing.

Blockchain Notarization and Electronic Signatures

Digital signatures are on the rise, and Acronis wants to keep up. You can use the True Image program to create a unique signature that will act as your “Fingerprint” with the Acronis Notary tool. It will generate a blockchain-based certificate, giving you an easy way to confirm your authenticity.

Similarly, you can capture electronic signatures on your documents from multiple people and record them in a safe blockchain ledger with Acronis ASign. This way, you can always verify someone’s integrity.

Active Disk Cloning

With the Acronis backup software, you can make a replica of any Windows/Mac system while it is in use, without having to reboot your device. This is one of the best options to migrate your data fast, without losing anything. From files to applications and settings, it makes sure that you will transfer everything smoothly.

Replicate Your Local Backup

With Acronis, you can replicate your local backup in the cloud. This is one of the key features that gives you a permanent off-site copy that is always available for recovery. It’s extremely practical for most users’ daily needs.

Visual Protection Dashboard

The Visual Protection Dashboard is something you will definitely appreciate. It will display anything from your backup activity to your data statistics, as well as other metrics for all of your devices. You’ll have all the information you need right before you.

Universal Restore

Did you know that you can universally restore your system to your existing or new hardware with the innovative media and driver injection technology by Acronis? In a matter of minutes, your data will be loaded on a machine of your choice.

No Limits to The Mobile Devices You Add

While there are limits to the number of computers that can be linked to Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office, the software’s mobile connectivity has no such rules. This means that you can link and cover all of your family’s phones and tablets under one roof.

Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office HD has a license that allows it to support as many smartphones and mobile devices as you would like. You can manage the protection plan for each of them. From photos to videos, contacts to notes and calendars, your data will always been within reach.

CPU Load Balancing

Even though Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office doesn’t overload your device, the new version comes with a feature called CPU load balancing. It keeps your computer’s CPU from hitting a dangerous point and overloading.

Resumable Replications

Data can easily get duplicated. However, the resumable replications that Acronis has introduced prevents this. So, whenever a backup replication is interrupted, the process will resume from the point it stopped at, instead of restarting from the beginning.

File Recovery

We tried to recover some of our files as part of the testing process for this Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office review.

The Acronis software gives you simple restoring options for each backup. All you need to do is select your backup task, visit the Restore tab, pick the files you want to restore and play around with the recovery options. Then, click/tap on Continue. As easy as pie!

Some of the great automatic options for file recovery include instructing the software to restart your computer after you finish restoring the files, or to overwrite the existing files on your local drive. You can also prioritize tasks.

The process may take some time. The good thing, though, is that your recovered data will be in the cloud. You can retrieve files from a web interface, too.

Facebook/Instagram Backups

Forget about data loss! With this tool, you even get Facebook and Instagram backups. We were delighted to find such an option, when writing this Acronis review.

The real power of this feature is the backup for all of the photos or videos you will capture through Instagram or Facebook. It also saves all the messages and other data found in your social media profiles.

Web And Sharing

The Acronis software looks great. However, there might be some inconveniences in its navigation, mostly because its capabilities are spread across different dashboards. When signing in to your account online, the first page that pops up will be the Acronis Account Page. There you can manage your subscriptions, edit your personal settings, control what you receive on email and access the support.

Via Acronis Data Cloud, you can browse through the Resources (located on the left) and see how to set up and run your backup processes remotely. In the sidebar, you will see the Backups, Archives and Syncs. Clicking or tapping each of these will open a new tab.

There is no two-factor authentication for account sign-ins, which is definitely a big security standard nowadays. This is a major downside. We hope to soon be able to update this Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office Review with the news that 2FA is available.

The performance of Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office is overall very solid.

We tested how the Acronis disk clone worked, with a batch of separate file sets. The bandwidth was not a limiting factor. It took more than 2 minutes for the software to upload a file of 1GB.

It excelled this test for the Acronis review. The mobile app showed the same results – there were no issues at all. The clean design of Acronis only made the uploads more convenient and consistent.

The only downside here is that the mobile app does not let users choose the specific files they want to back up. It would be good if this software included the ability to select individual files, as well as a continuous backing option that works with a local encryption key.

Overall, Acronis works best with Windows and has some troubles on Android and iOS. The main problem is reliability – issues like lags when deleting a backup set and frozen screens happen, even when you are just navigating between folders.

Interface and Ease of Use

When we used the software for this Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office review, we loved how effortless to navigate and clean the interface is.

Users have the right amount of control over how and when their online backup services are updated, as well as the ability to schedule incremental, partial or full backups. Saving them to the cloud is very easy. So, if you are looking for a complete software backup tool that has a clean interface with simple features, Acronis should definitely be among your options.

Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office Security

Of course, in order to give you a good Acronis review, we had to test the security.

We already mentioned there’s no 2FA, which we hope is added soon.

However, there is Active Protection, designed to protect you from ransomware, which encrypts your files. The features will look for any changes to your files that seem concerning, as well as potential threats. If it finds such issues, it will alert you.

There is also a private encryption key that you can use if you are concerned about your files. Just don’t lose it! The company can’t recover it and if you forget it, you won’t be able to get your data back.

Customer Support

The official Acronis website offers plenty of support options. You can dive into the knowledge base and explore the help guides, spec sheets, FAQs, and other materials. You can also ask the community or browse related issues.

If you want to contact Acronis, you can do that by opening a ticket. We talked to an agent with some questions related to this Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office review. He was helpful, quick, and able to resolve any issue. Also, each of the paid subscriptions comes with phone, live chat, and email assistance 24/7.
