What Is KidLogger?

KidLogger is software that monitors your child’s activities on smartphones and computers. It’s compatible with popular operating systems such as:

  • Android
  • macOS
  • Windows
  • Linux.

It’s open-source so that experts can analyze the code, weed out bugs, and provide customizations.

KidLogger Features

Here’s what KidLogger can do to protect your kids:

This parental control software will ensure nothing gets past you when your child uses their keyboard.

It does so by tracking keystrokes - that includes anything on the clipboard. It can even delete messages!

However, the keylogger is available only with the Professional subscription plan. In order to use it, parents should install a special version of Kidlogger agent. The latter can be recognized as spyware by antivirus programs. This can easily be bypassed by adding the Downloads folder to the exclusions list of Windows Defender or other antimalware solutions.

Time Tracking

Older kids can be sneaky about the time they spend on their gadgets.

Luckily, KidLogger allows you to set hours when you don’t want your child on their devices. That could be during school hours or bedtime.

Most KidLogger reviews praise its monitoring abilities. And for a good reason.

For starters, it will show you who your kids call or text and what they talk about. It’ll also give you a list of those they communicate with often.

In addition, you will get to see which files and folders they use the most, so you can check them out.

That’s not all:

KidLogger monitors the sites and apps they visit and stores their logs. The software covers the following browsers:

  • Chrome
  • Firefox
  • Safari
  • Opera

And you’ll love this:

Have you ever received a crazy credit card bill only to find out that your child spent money on games without your permission?

Well, you can set this screen monitoring app to stop the installation of unauthorized games

Location Tracking

If you want to know where your minor is at all times, you can count on KidLogger. It uses cell towers, Wi-Fi hotspots, or GPS coordinates to show you their whereabouts. It then displays the information as a map on your dashboard.

By the way, this feature can also track a lost phone or laptop.

Remote Photo Viewing

You can view any images your kid takes with their phone camera. It takes screengrabs of them and sends them to your email.

KidLogger Advanced Features

So, does KidLogger offer anything extra?

Yes, it does:

Keyword Monitoring

Wondering what your youngster searches for online or what they talk about with their friends?

You can set a list of target keywords to help you find out.

Then, this parental monitoring software will take screenshots every time your child uses those phrases/words. It will send you the images via email.

Voice Recording

KidLogger can monitor voices via a mic and store them as mp3 files

This includes conversations happening around the device.

Or from:

  • Phone calls
  • Skype
  • WhatsApp
  • Facebook
  • Yahoo messenger
  • Any other services using VoIP

Data Leak Prevention

If you are looking for software to monitor your child’s computer, then you’ll be happy to know that Kidlogger can also help you with data leakage. It logs all external HDDs and USB flash drive usage. That prevents data loss or copying and transferring of files in and out of their computer.

Blocking and Filtering

With KidLogger, you can control which apps your kid uses. But that’s only for stuff within their device like:

  • Games
  • Media Player
  • Messaging apps

Note that this internet monitoring software doesn’t block or filter website searches

But don’t get discouraged.

The app does a wonderful job of observing what your child is doing on their device.

It will send all screenshots and logs to your dashboard or email.

Interface and Ease of Use

This parental internet monitoring software has an outdated interface compared to rival apps.

Setting it up can be a bit time-consuming, but it's nothing complicated.

You’ll just need to check some necessary boxes on your dashboard. And then set some keywords. That will allow the device to monitor keystrokes, browsing history, chat logs, calls, etc.

Also, note that data won’t start streaming in as soon as you sign up. It might take a good 20-30 minutes.

If you don’t know where to begin, worry not. The company offers easy-to-understand instructions to help you out.

Customer Support

You can reach the KidLogger app customer service department via email. It’s available Monday to Saturday 8-10 GMT+2 (UTC+2)

However, that doesn’t mean that people outside the time zone can’t get help. If that’s your case, expect a 24-hour turnaround time.

The company’s client support staff is very professional. They were very patient with me and answered all my questions.

KidLogger Pricing

KidLogger doesn’t have a free trial. But it does have a freemium package that accommodates up to five devices.

Premium plans for the web monitoring software for parents are:

  • Basic: $0.00
    5 devices + 9MB disk space
  • Standard: From $9.00
    5 gadgets + 100MB disk space

KidLogger Review - Verdict

After reading numerous KidLogger reviews and experimenting with it myself, I can recommend it as a monitoring tool.

Note that it won’t help you block or filter HTTPS content. But it will act as an extra set of eyes for you.

It monitors device usage then sends periodic screenshots and logs. You will know if your youngster is talking to strangers who may take advantage of them.

KidLogger can also warn you if your child is visiting questionable websites or the dark web.

In addition, you can find out if your kid is on the receiving end of cyberbullying or is bullying others.

Is KidLogger safe?

Yes, KidLogger is absolutely safe.

You can password-protect this children monitoring software on Windows, Android, and Mac to ensure you’re the only one who can access it. You can then set up a guest account for your kid (s) to use.

It’s also open-source, so developers can spot any abnormal activity ASAP.

Is KidLogger malware?

KidLogger’s keyboard hooking code prompts most antivirus software to flag it as malware.

However, it doesn’t contain any modules with spyware or adware.

How do you use KidLogger?

First, register for an account on KidLogger. Then, download and install it on your child’s smartphone.

After that, connect the app with your profile. Finally, set some parameters on the things you want to monitor, such as location, keywords, calls, messages, etc.
