Best for: Quick and easy image design and editing
What Is FotoJet?
FotoJet is mainly an online tool for image editing, with features for photo collages and graphic designs. In addition, it has Windows and Mac applications. It was developed by PearlMountain Limited, a dedicated graphics software developing company that has been around since 2006.
Millions of users spreading across more than 200 countries use FotoJet. The tool is fairly cheap and easy to use. This makes it a great option for beginners.
Let’s see what the FotoJet app has in store.
FotoJet Features
This web app offers a nice array of features your company might find handy. They include:
Graphic Designer
The FotoJet graphic designer is arguably the star of the show. With it, you’ll be able to create new graphics from scratch. While Adobe Photoshop requires some skill, anyone can design some cool images with this tool.
In terms of templates, FotoJet offers absolutely everything you might need. For example, it hs options for:
- YouTube channel art
- Instagram photos
- business cards
- paperback magazines
I tested the new design creator by trying to design a cover for a fictional Techjury paperback magazine. It took me about a minute to come up with this. Not bad, right?
If you don’t want to use one of the FotoJet templates and you want to create a custom-sized graphic, you need a premium account.
Photo Editor
FotoJet has a Photo Editor that can help you with:
- resizing
- adjusting colors
- changing brightness
- cropping parts of the image
- adding text overlays
And more!
There are also effects, although some are only available on the premium plan.
Clipart often gets overlooked with programs like this, but FotoJet offers a nice set of graphics you can insert into the picture with just one click. Social media icons really stand out.
Other photo editing options such as autofocus, image sharpness, and noise reduction become available once you sign up for a premium account.
If you don’t have time to go through all options and try to find the perfect design, FotoJet editor offers a handy Auto Enhance button. It boosts the quality of your photo and makes it clearer on the implementation of a single click. Plus, it can automatically fix any issues it finds in your picture.
Collage Maker
The tool gives you an option to use different templates and backgrounds for your collages.
According to many FotoJet user reviews, the Photo Card tool is a quick and easy way to create cards for special occasions such as birthdays, weddings, and anniversaries.
The FotoJet Photo Grid provides bloggers with a quick and easy way to create preview images for their articles.
In addition, there are over 800 layouts to choose from. You can also control roundness and spacing between images with simple sliders.
I made one in less than 30 seconds after finding the images I wanted to use.
You can also try to make 3D graphics, comics, etc.
Video Editor
One of the newest features is powered by FlexClip and it’s all about letting you create high-quality results without much hassle.
It’s basically a FotoJet video maker since you don’t need any material to start with. There are tons of pre-recorded HQ clips you can combine to make a video for your website.
Of course, you can also upload media from your computer and edit them in FotoJet.
When it comes to audio, there is plenty of music in its library. The tunes available can complement all kinds of videos with sets labeled as Promo, Travel, Piano, etc.
In addition, the app has a ton of customization options - from adding text on top of the video to social media icons.
When designing videos for your social media pages, there’s an option to adjust dimensions per platform. This means you can have perfectly-sized content for popular destinations such as:
- Snapchat
- TikTok
Ease of Use and Interface
It takes just one click to switch between options in the left toolbar and choose what you want to do with your image. Designs that come with the program are listed in separate folders, so navigating is a breeze.
Editing the text is also extremely easy. For example, in my FotoJet brochure, I was able to switch between different fonts and sizes using a pop-up bar.
The only thing users may find confusing is the layering system. Unlike Photoshop, which has a separate panel, FotoJet uses a forward/backward system. Basically, you click on a graphic and choose whether you want to move it forward or backward.
The computer app is exactly the same as the browser version. resembles the online application entirely. So, if you want to make a switch, there will be no learning curve.
FotoJet Pricing
So, is FotoJet free?
There’s a free version available, but it’s rather limited.
The biggest issue is that you can’t download or share the final product until you upgrade your account. If you’re on Windows/Mac, you can save your designs, but they’ll have a large FotoJet watermark right in the middle of the image.
As an alternative to the free version, FotoJet offers its Plus plan for $6.99/month. And if you’re ready to commit long-term, you can get it for $39.99/year which translates to only $3.33/month.
The FotoJet Mac or Windows versions, however, differ in pricing. You can get some of its features separately.
Let’s take a look at the FotoJet pricing structure.
$59.90
For up to five computers, free lifetime updates, priority support.
$49.90
For up to five computers, free lifetime updates, priority support.
If you want to check out the premium version of the online application, there’s a FotoJet trial version. It’s absolutely free and lasts for seven days.
However, to unlock it, you have to input your credit card info. If you don’t cancel the subscription, you’ll be automatically charged once the trial period ends. You can cancel your trial at any time.
FotoJet Review - Verdict
So, how good is FotoJet and how does it compare to other options available?
After extensively testing the program for this FotoJet review, I’d go on to say that it’s one of the simplest graphics tools you can find.
You don’t need any prior knowledge to use it. Still, Photoshop offers way more in terms of options.
As stated in many user-written FotoJet reviews, it’s a great tool for independent bloggers and small businesses.
There is a free version, which although limited, can give you a pretty good idea of what to expect. So if your business needs some stunning visuals, definitely try FotoJet!
